She has been featured in Essence Festival, EBONY , Black Enterprise, Black America Web, Rolling Out, to name a few It is ultimately her compassion and humanitarian outreach work through teaching others how to garden that significantly impacts so many lives and communities across the globe.

Niya assists in community outreach projects alongside her husband, former Super Bowl Champion, Eric Matthews. Niya is the President of the Eric Matthews Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
